Alexandre “Gaules” Borba Chiqueta is a Brazilian former professional Counter-Strike player, coach, and now a streamer, content creator, and philanthropist. He was born on December 2, 1989, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Gaules began his esports career as a player for g3nerationX, a team that later became part of the legendary Brazilian organization MIBR. With them, he achieved one of his early career highlights by winning DreamHack Winter 2007. After this success, he briefly worked as a coach for about a year before stepping away from esports. At the end of 2008, he pursued a career in IT, studying and later working at Samsung, where he became one of the first employees hired without a formal degree. However, he struggled to find fulfillment in that field and eventually returned to esports in 2010. Around 2017, Gaules faced a difficult period in his life, dealing with depression and uncertainty about his future. He aspired to become an independent content creator and host but struggled to find his path, even surviving a suicide attempt in December 2017. In 2018, he turned his life around, rethinking his approach and starting fresh. With support from g3nerationX, he began his streaming career. Today, Gaules is one of the most popular Portuguese speaking streamers in the world. He regularly streams Counter-Strike 2, covers major esports tournaments including Majors. His streams are especially popular among the Brazilian and Portuguese speaking CS audience, making him a central figure in the scene.
