Information about s1mple
Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev is one of the most well-known Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players from Ukraine. He began his esports career by playing LAN tournaments with the team LAN DODGERS. Later, he played for Courage Gaming and Hashtag, but left both teams due to internal issues. Soon after, he returned to DODGERS.
In February 2014, he received a two-year ESL ban for cheating and ban evasion (creating a new account), which lasted until February 2016. In mid-2014, he joined Amazing Gaming, where he impressed the community with his outstanding performance. In September, he moved to HellRaisers but had to leave due to his ban, as he could not participate in ESL Major tournaments.
In January 2015, he joined dAT Team and later played for Evolution, Evolution.Dark, and Worst Players. He also spent some time as a stand-in for his former HellRaisers teammates before joining FlipSid3 Tactics.
While playing for FlipSid3 Tactics, he met Hiko, who later helped him join the American team Team Liquid. With Team Liquid, he competed at MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016 and ESL One: Cologne 2016, finishing second at both events. During this time, he gained worldwide recognition for his exceptional AWP skills.
In August 2016, he returned to Ukraine and signed with Natus Vincere. With the team, he won numerous tournaments and earned multiple individual awards.
On September 29, 2024, he joined Falcons as a stand-in for a LAN tournament. On May 5, 2025, he joined FaZe Clan for BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. On July 28, 2025, he became part of the BC.Game organization.
In 2018, he was ranked the best player in the world by HLTV.
In 2019, he ranked second in the HLTV ranking.
In 2020, he ranked second in the HLTV ranking.
In 2021, he ranked first in the HLTV ranking.
