Owen "smooya" Butterfield is a professional CS2 player from the United Kingdom. Born on August 16, 1999, he began his competitive journey in March 2016 with CAZ eSports. During the early years of his career, he played for numerous teams including DaOrglessBoyz, Orgles5, Endpoint, CeX, Radix eSports, exceL eSports, and Epsilon eSports.
In April 2018, smooya joined BIG, marking one of the biggest steps of his career at the time. His time with BIG introduced him to top-tier competition and international events, helping establish him as a talented AWPer with an aggressive style of play.
Following his departure from BIG, Owen continued his journey through several organizations. In January 2020, he became part of Chaos Esports Club, later spending time with c0ntact Gaming. On February 2, 2021, he joined Movistar Riders, though his stay there was relatively short.
Later that year, smooya received a trial opportunity with Fnatic.
He also represented: Into The Breach and The Witchers. On June 8, 2024, he officially became a permanent member of Into The Breach, and in 2025 he continued his career under the fish123 banner.
